1 Buzo Osteria Italiana

If you’re looking for contemporary fine dining Italian-style, then Buzo is for you. Offering an extensive menu of Italian specialities such as Gamberoni Alla Diavola
(Mediterranean prawns with fresh chilli and garlic on Prosecco and asparagus risotto), Buzo has a powerful open oven serving huge, tasty pizzas.
Our favourite pizza is the classic Quattro Stagioni (spicy salami, sausage, artichoke, mushroom and mozzarella). But try one of their Bianche pizzas such as Campagnola (Grilled vegetables, goat’s cheese and mozzarella).
Make sure you order one of their delicious cocktails too. We particularly like the rose Sangria and enjoy the excellent service. Reservations are essential.
2 Zaccios (West Coast)

Open from lunch through to late dinner, Zaccios is well-known throughout the island for its pizzas and superb beach-side location. Order a cocktail or two then enjoy the stunning views over the Caribbean Sea. Family-friendly and easily accessible in the heart of Holetown, pizzas are available with your combination of toppings. Gluten-free options are also available.
New for 2020 is Zaccios on the East Coast! Located in Bathsheba in St Joseph, at Zote you’ll find all the West Coast favourites including pizza. Local delivery is available at both locations.
3 Mimosas

Mimosas promises casual, Italian-style seaside dining in St Lawrence Gap offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. This little gem is known for its excellent service, value for money and fabulous food. In addition to pasta and the menu offers 11-inch thin-crust pizzas, with a gluten-free option also available.
Currently, the kitchen is open Thursdays and Fridays 12noon to 10 pm, Saturdays and Sundays 8 am-10 pm and Mondays through Wednesdays 5-9 pm.
4 Open Kitchen

Traveller’s Choice winner Open Kitchen has an extensive pizza menu based on their delicious house-made marinara sauce. One of the most popular eateries on the island, they serve rustic dishes emphasising local and organic produce.
The stylish Walker’s World showroom creates the perfect atmosphere to sit back and enjoy a delicious pizza. Our favourite is the Truffle Lovers pizza with mushroom, parmesan and truffle oil. Double up and order a portion of their Truffle Fries on the side.
Fancy something a little different? Try their Bianca pizza with an alfredo sauce base or their Ryan’s Special pizza with cream cheese and broccoli sauce base. And don’t forget to purchase your accompanying wine from Trident the wine sellers, housed in the same building. Booking is advised.
5 Orange Street Grocer

Another TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice winner for 2020, the Orange Street Grocer (OSG) is a deli-bistro offering farm to table wood-fired 12-inch thin-crust pizzas, salads, and healthy bowls. You are assured of a great welcome, fresh produce and a fantastic view of the Caribbean Sea. They have vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and nut-free options, so ask for what you need.
Our favourite is the Full Monty which comes loaded with OSG’s pizza sauce, Mozzarella cheese, ham, mushrooms, olives and bacon. Or try the vegan Eden pizza with OSG’s pizza sauce, roasted veggies, spinach and vegan cheese.
6 Mama Mia Italian Deli and Pizzeria

Based on Barbados’ south coast, Mama Mia’s is a favourite with locals and visitors providing an intimate and authentic slice of Italy. The menu offers over 15 types of 8- or 12-inch thin-crust pizza cooked in a traditional brick oven. Or you can choose to build your own from a wide selection of fresh ingredients including lobster, gorgonzola and caramelised onions.
Our favourite is the Frutti Di Mare with mussels, clams and baby shrimp but the cheesy calzone is also great.
Mama Mia’s is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11 am -7 pm, Friday 11 am – 9 pm and Saturday 12 pm -9 pm.
7 Baby Doll

Great pizza with a view! This self-titled “eccentric” little diner on the South Coast boardwalk is ideal for catching the breeze and watching the sunset. If you’re lucky, you might see a turtle or two! The pizzas are large and good value. Our favourite is the Amore which is packed with fresh ingredients.
Open Monday to Friday from 11.30 am to 10.30 pm, Saturday and Sunday from 11.30 am to 11.30 pm.
8 D’Onofrio’s Trattoria

Located in the Village at The Crane Resort, D’Onofrio’s is an authentic Southern Italian restaurant and a TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice winner for 2020. Offering authentic Italian specialities like Penne Piccante con Salsiccia, Ai Funghi risotto and Pollo Alla Milanese, D’Onofrio’s thin-crust pizzas are delicious.
Choose from small or large classics options like Napoletana with anchovies and mushrooms or Toscana with ham, Italian sausage and pepperoni. Our favourite is Locale pizza with Sweet peppers, sautéed onions, ham, pineapples (yes, try it!). Reservations are essential to avoid disappointment.
Open for dinner from 6 pm to 9.30 pm daily.
9 Pepenero

Located in the Limegrove Lifestyle Centre’s food court, Pepenero consistently serves some of the best Italian cuisines on the West Coast. If you’re looking for a less formal dining experience at a reasonable price, then this is the place for you. Promising uncomplicated, fresh ingredients with a personal spin on traditional Italian cuisine. Their mantra explains it all – Simply Italian Cooked with Love.
The team at Pepenero source ingredients from their farm (Future Green) and other local farmers and suppliers.
Our favourite is the Il Giardino thin-crust pizza with goat’s cheese, caramelised onions and spinach. Or try their Caribbean-inspired I Caraibi pizza with pineapple (there it is again), ham, pepperoni and a hint of chilli.
10 Spago Restaurant and Bar

Open in 2005 and inspired by a passion for Italy, you’ll find Spago in the heart of Holetown. Although small, Spago has an authentic, buzzy but cosy atmosphere with traditional red and white tablecloths and excellent service. The menu is packed with freshly prepared stone-baked pizzas, fresh pasta and homemade desserts.
There are 20 pizzas on the menu. Our favourite is Quattro Stagioni with ham, artichoke, mushrooms and olives but why not try the Affumicata topped with smoked catch, capers and black olives. Reservations recommended.
